Bunbun and Bailey are picky. They know the difference between hay that smells like a barn and hay that smells like a field. This high-quality hay comes mainly from the third harvest of Timothy Hay or an exceptionally soft second harvest. The key feature of this premium hay is its velvety leaves, making it ideal for small pets with weak or sensitive teeth.

Third Cut Timothy Hay is the result of a rare third harvest, which depends on favorable weather conditions. Rabbit Hole Hay works closely with farmers to ensure a high-quality second harvest that meets their Ultra Premium Soft Timothy Hay standards. Their high-elevation fields create excellent growing conditions, producing thinner stalks and fuller leaves, similar to a third harvest.

Every package is hand-inspected and hand-packed, with long strands and minimal dust. It arrives fresh, green, and fragrant — the way hay is supposed to smell. Each box is securely bagged to preserve freshness and protect against odors.

RHDV2 safety: Rabbit Hole Hay is in close contact with the California Department of Fish and Game — the agency actively monitoring RHDV2 in California. To date, there have been NO reported cases of RHDV2 in the Northern California areas where their hay is sourced and where their warehouse is located. All hay currently available has been stored indoors for more than 3 months, and taking into account harvest dates and locations, no Rabbit Hole Hay product currently available is at risk of being a carrier of RHDV2.
